This group provide a fascinating archive of information about the Normandy War Veterans from in and around Stockport.
Project Scope
We were honoured to be asked to help them put this information online to help ensure this information is preserved and shared for future generations to read.
The site includes hundreds of pages of stories, photographs, audio recordings and videos sharing memories of these heroes and civilians that served at home recording their stories during the war, as well as keeping track of pilgrimages commemorating the Normandy Invasion.
We’ve also helped create an interactive treasure hunt around the area using the website and QR codes to encourage children to learn some of the stories of the wartime history in the area.
June 2024 marked the 80th anniversary of D-Day and we were pleased to be able to bring cutting-edge live streaming technology to the site, to show live video of the service of remembrance. And this year sees the 80th commemorations of VE and VJ day.
