Funding
Getting Funding is the best way to improve your investment into your website – as a specific project, organisations will be much more willing to sponsor investment into a project that provides ongoing returns for your organisation than make a one-off donation.
Funding for Non-Charities
Even non-charity-registered community groups can approach local businesses and ask them to sponsor their website and it wouldn’t be unusual to include some kind of banner or link to their business website to thank them for their support.
If you don’t have any supporters yet, it’s worth looking at other local community group sites to see if any businesses have supported them – they may have a budget for supporting community projects.
Funding for Charities and Non-Profits

Sponsors and Donations
It’s worth using something like LinkedIn to approach businesses to ask them if they’d like to sponsor or donate to part or all of your website. Your site can easily include a promotion of them – so they’ll appreciate and benefit from the ongoing advertising. Also, consider using a VAT-registered agency, as most businesses with funds to sponsor a charity website will be VAT registered, so they can also claim the VAT back.
Payment Gateways
When it comes to the bread and butter of taking payments online, it’s worth looking at your Payment Gateway to see which offer the best return for your transactions.
Changing your payment gateway may be the easiest way to add several percent onto your net online income.

However, similar to PayPal, Stripe also offer discounted rates for non-profits
Whilst these are the most common smaller payment gateways, you shouldn’t rule out larger gateways, for example, WorldPay.
They have also offered even better rates for charities and non-profits.
